After reading countless articles, and watching numerous videos posted about finding your niche I have finally stumbled into one of my own.
I started my blog originally just to keep track of my everyday life, then I realized I wasn’t really doing to many exciting things that I needed to keep track of. I don’t work for a high profile company, I don’t lead the glamorous life of a socialite, I don’t even have the inside scoop on new technology… truth be told half the time I don’t have the inside scoop on old technology. I originally started my blog for me, and if someone else wanted to take the time to read it, well I was ok with that.
Then I went to my first Podcamp and had a great time, met some great people, and learned about an entirely new side of blogging one I hadn’t really considered before. Still I struggled to find my niche, to find something I was truly passionate about. My problem was I am passionate about a lot of things and trying to taper it down to just one or two wasn’t working for me. I am ashamed to say this led to less and less blogging as I struggled with trying to decide what my blog was going to be about, or what purpose it would serve, who was going to read it, for that matter why would anyone read it.
After all of this I realized I almost stopped doing something I enjoyed, because someone said I had to follow certain instructions for it to amount to anything. Let me clarify, not that it couldn’t, but that most don’t if you don’t follow the rules.
Well, I will be the first to admit when it comes to always following the rules I am not the greatest. I try, but sometimes… you know!
So I have decided to re brand myself, I ordered new business cards, I am having my Website updated, and I am gearing up for a very productive year.
I have 3 incredible projects I am working on with some very close friends, and I have decided to use these projects as the inspiration for my blog. Besides keeping up with my personal life and goals, I will be updating everyone on each of the individual projects I am working on as well. This will range from basic news, to promotions and giveaways, and maybe some behind the scenes specials as well.
