I’ve Gone Blue…

bluemicI got a new toy in the mail last Wednesday, and have used it every chance I get since…

After starting a new Podcast with @jacobburke a couple weeks ago, I noticed after finishing the first episode that you can hear my breathing on the track as well as some other undesirable noise.  I decided  to locate a new microphone with better sound quality that would negate my current problem.

I had recently read a post by iJustine in which she actually posted a picture and recommended the Snowflake from Blue Microphones.  Then I found out my counterpart on the Podcast had ordered a Blue Microphone for himself as well over the Christmas Holiday.  After listening to the quality, and talking with him a few times over Skype I was sold.  Jacob was kind enough to loan me the money until payday, and ordered the Microphone for me.

In my opinion everyone that uses a Mic for any recording purposes should invest in a Blue microphone.  The sound quality is amazing, they’re easy to use straight out of the box, and they are compact which make them easy for travel as well.

As a testament to how good they work… if you have listened to FallingFlat episode 2 you will hear an echo.  Apparently I either sat to close or had my headphones turned up to high because you can hear and echo in the background the whole time.  While I have taken measures to fix this from happening again, it goes to show how great these Blue Microphones are.
