Hey everyone,
I know its been a while, but I am finally back to blogging again, and man do I have a lot to catch up on. First things first though. Sunday night me and some of the guys went to a Breast Cancer benefit for a single 28 yr. old mother of 2 at US 12 in Westland, MI.
The Benefit was amazing, and the people from Lucky Hair Co. that put it together did an incredible job. I wish everyone could have been there with us. They were able to pull together several local bands, and many of the local businesses pitched in with donations for both the raffle, and a silent auction. There was a great turnout for it being a Sunday night and my biggest regret was having to leave early because of work on Monday morning. I would have loved to stay and see the last 2 bands.
One of my only other regrets was that Seven Letters had to cancel and I didn’t get to see them play. Even so it was a wonderful night…
First up was Wound a heavy Metal band from Dearborn, MI. This was my first time hearing them, and they were a great start to the night.
The second band to take the stage was Flophouse. They had a more Funk style sound and was a great change of pace following Wound. I enjoyed the awesome cover they did at the end.
Then they brought out the woman of the night… Leza Ivezaj to say a few kind words and thank everyone for coming out to support the event.
Our next band up was Pistol Day Parade! I was pretty interested to hear them as they are a spin off of another band that a friend of mine follows, and really seems to like.
Needless to say they were amazing and one of the local bands that I am going to follow on a regular basis. I really enjoyed there sound and it was a nice mix after the 2 bands that had already played.
Next up we have Seasons of Eden, another rock heavy band with an extremely charismatic lead singer. They were great in picking up the pace, and getting the crowd fired up and moving again after the raffle.
The last band we were able to see before we left for the night was Bridge. Jim was really excited to hear them. I guess he has followed them for a while and is friends with several of the band members.
All in all for the time we were there the event was incredible, and seemed to go off almost without a hitch. I must admit I am curious to find out how much they ended up raising at the end of the night.
I wish Leza the best of luck and I sincerely hope this helps alleviate some of things she is dealing with in her life right now. Meeting her that night she seemed to be in great spirits and a genuinely positive person.
I need to give a special thanks to Lucky Hair Co. for sponsoring, setting up, and working the event. They did an awesome job! If you need your hair done and your in the Metro Detroit area check them out.

I also want to give a special thanks to US 12 in Wayne for hosting the event. Without them I am not sure any of this would have been possible. It doesn’t seem like to many people are willing to help out others these days unless there is something in it for them.
My only other regret from the night was that my camera broke for a second time. I am sorry all the pics are so grainy, but I had to use my camera phone to take pics because of it.
I have posted links to all of the bands we heard check them out and give them a listen. My two personal favorites are Seven Letters and Pistol Day Parade. If you do decide to listen comment back and let me know what you think.
I guess that’s about it…
